Objectives: Main Purpose

The Executive Head of Learning and Development is responsible for the management of learning and capability development within the Vodacom Group.

Objectives

Develop and drive an integrated Learning & Capability Development strategic approach to the business.
Facilitate the establishment and synchronising of an integrated framework that synergises Organisational Capabilities and Functional Capabilities.
Ensure skills development strategy serves as a tool to achieve business strategy currently and in the future.
Management of various development programmes such as VAEP; Discover, YAP or and any programme that would be relevant in the future.
Act as a Company representative when engaging with external stakeholders on matters related to Learning and Capability Development (such as Seta).
Ensure compliance with SA legislation such as WSP; WSR and audits etc.
Guide the company on the skills development elements of BBB-EE (guides on targets; trends and threats etc.)
Advice and co-ordinate training needs analysis.
Ensure Continual Leadership Development is aligned to company’s strategy, market changes/innovation.
Play a key role in support of supermobile strategy (Technology; Marketing; Retail).
Ensure alignment with key HR strategies such as talent management; performance management; culture-drive; organisational design and manpower planning.
Provide innovative approach to leadership pipeline.
Ensure alignment with the Global Head of Learning and Capability Development to ensure our local strategies are aligned to the Group
Management of the division’s overall budget including forecasting and planning.
Management of his/her department; inclusive of leadership and support to all divisional staff as well as the affected business areas.
Design strategies; selling and delivering on strategies.

Requirements: Education and Experience

Matric / Grade 12 or SAQA accredite equivalent*
3 year Degree/Diploma in Learning & Development, Human Resources, BComm in Industrial Psychology, Bachelor of Social Science (Essential)
Postgraduate Qualification (Advantageous)

8-10 years’ experience working as a Leadership Development /Learning and Development Expert including 5 years In-depth experience at Executive level, sound experience in engaging with relevant key stakeholders such as SETA, DOL, Academic Business Schools etc.
Knowledge of the telecommunication industry would be advantageous.
