Post Description:
Advancement is a division which is responsible for the marketing and communication of the University and maintenance of the Corporate Image. The Development Office is a unit within the Division of Advancement. Its core function is to raise funds from corporate and other funding organisations in aid of the University’s priority projects. The division represents and markets the University to external and internal stakeholders.

The Development Office also assists with the facilitation of core- and faculty fundraising projects, which are equally important but less critical to the institution as a whole. He or she must be willing to travel extensively.

The incumbent will report to the Manager: Development

The Senior Development Officer will perform the following duties:
•Manage institutional fundraising projects in accordance with the official Fundraising Policy
•Drive fundraising protocols for the University
•Assist with the process development to enhance funding opportunities for the institution.
•Manage stewardship and relationship building activities.
•Liaise with the individuals, units and division to facilitate fundraising partnerships
•Develop and maintain a central institutional donor/partnership database
•Comply with any request from the Executive Director/Senior Manager /Development Manager to assist with special projects as part of a project team.
Requirements:
•Relevant B Degree in Marketing /Communication or PR is essential
•3 years fundraising experience with a proven track record
•3 years working experience in Public relations / Marketing / Communication environment is essential.
•3 years working experience in a tertiary education environment is desirable.
•Exposure and understanding of prospect research in a fundraising environment is essential.
•Project management skills are essential
•He or she must be a team player and be organized
•Driver’s license is essential.
•Must be Computer literate
•Be competent in the areas of project Management and Time Management
•Highly competent in writing and verbal Communication
