Job Purpose:
• To actively identify, manage and monitor Insurable operational Risk within the Bank in a specialist capacity and to support the Senior Manager in this role.

Key Functions / Responsibilities
Provide proactive initiatives by optimising the market conditions to ensure the most favourable and value-add benefit to the Group:
• Procure relevant underwriting information from internal stakeholders to satisfy the requirements of underwriters and to market the Group to the best advantage.
• Optimise use of captive insurers as risk financing/funding vehicles.
• Management of insured claims as notified to the department.
• Provide non-conventional solutions to managing insurable operational risk for Nedbank.

Build, manage and maintain relationships by providing advice to stakeholders. Provide training and consultancy services to internal stakeholders:

Requirements:
• Insurance Market Diploma's (ACII/FCII).
• Financial Qualification and/or recognised Risk Management qualifications will be advantageous.
• South Africa Insurance Institute preferable/recognised Risk Management association.
• 5 years relevant experience.
• Understanding of the banking and financial services industry.
• Understanding and knowledge of the local and international insurance industry.
• Sound Risk Management knowledge.
• Insurance Finance knowledge.

Technical Competencies:
• Computer Literacy
