Description


Job Purpose

To ensure the effective Strategic Management of the Customer Portfolio by providing financial leadership, sector/industry/segment insights, directing performance activities, business plan development as well as influencing the choice and analyses of performance metrics and associated drivers to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of operational and tactical programmes and their continued alignment with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation and socialization of customer segment performance metrics, models and reports
• Manage Relationships with Key Stakeholders
• Take ownership of a RBB Customer dashboard
• Establish KPIs that align with strategic goals of business and that are measurable
• Ensure early feedback on trends/insights on business performance not aligned with plans is given the necessary rigorous appraisal
• Translate actual performance against the desired strategic KPIs and customer experience dimensions / metrics into actionable items
• Develop a key financial and non-financial performance framework
• Provide feedback and insights on customer performance at an industry, sector of segment level incorporating acceptable methodology from a value view, trends, driver analysis, potential and macro-economic influence
• Develop and implement tactical measurement methodologies
• Enable the monitoring and management of overall customer performance against strategic, industry and sector/segment plans and market expectations
• Ensure reporting is scaled to meet requirements of audience/stakeholder, provide commentary and feedback loop into business
• Leverage customer insights and intelligence to identify gaps and opportunities in both product & channel offering
• Act as a subject matter expert on RBB customer strategic initiatives
• Communicate with peer group outside of Customer in relation to Performance Management
• Identify and leverage off existing business models and centers of excellence
• Drive the automation of reporting where necessary
• Lead the establishment of an RBB Customer Stock and Flow model
• Lead on a deep dive customer value distribution analysis linking Customer Performance Measures with insights
• Manage an understanding of trade-off decisions that best align with medium term strategic intent and operational realities utilizing existing models in the bank where possible
• Build financial models of scenarios at a customer level when required
• Drive automation of models and handover to appropriate support function
• Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:
o workforce and recruitment demand planning
o recruitment
o talent management and succession planning
o mentoring and coaching
o management of discipline and grievances
o performance development
o reward and recognition management
o training and development
• Review and update the department's organisation structure and role profiles regularly
• Ensure that Code of Good Practice targets are met for the team.
• Ensure satisfactory service delivery and equal distribution of workloads in the teams
• Manage cost within approved budget
• Ensure compliance to Absa policies, legislation and regulations and that all staff compliance training and attestations are in place

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

• B Degree in Finance, Commerce, engineering or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher
• Four (4) years experience in Financial Analysis
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
• No criminal record

Preferred Requirements

• CA(SA), CIMA, CFA or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
• Two (2) years experience in financial management of a complex SBU where decisions regarding channel, customer and product would have been made in
• Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
