Description
African Barrick Gold is currently seeking to appoint a Buyer in our Supply Chain Department at our Bedfordview, Johannesburg Office. Although this position will be based in Johannesburg, the incumbent will spend a significant amount of time at our mines in Tanzania.
Key Performance Areas / Results
Duties include but are not limited to:
Understanding of the procure to pay as well as contract to procure process
Analytical abilities to evaluate and adjudicate order
Numerical abilities and basic understanding of the working of escalation on contracts
Risk mitigation and resolution of disputes on orders placed
Corrections of errors on Oracle / Pronto and regular review of inputs
Escalation in issues and errors to management
Required to meet deadlines and set goals
Develop and maintain the vendor master
Analyses of price behavior and basic escalation
Run tender and RFQ process
Evaluation of tenders / Supplier quotes
Contract Administration (capture, filing, monitor, manage, goals / services receipt)
Execution of orders
Expediting of orders
Reporting on Savings
Commercially managing of low value / low risk contracts and orders
Up-to-date filing of all administration
Interaction with End-Users at meetings and enquiry feedback
Ensure Audit Trails
Professional Skills
Education Requirements:
Grade 12 or Equivalent is essential
Qualification in Purchasing and / or Supply Chain Management is preferred
Experience Requirements:
3 - 5 years purchasing experience in a multinational mining or engineering environment
3 - 5 years experience in the Supply Chain Management environment
Computer literacy:
Supply Chain ERP system
Oracle
Pronto
MS Office Suite: Word; Excel; PowerPoint (Intermediate to Advanced is preferred)
