Minimum Requirements

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Chauffeur
• Messenger
• Vehicle Maintenance
• Field Trips/Site Visits
• Other Tasks as assigned by supervisor

Desired Qualifications:
• High School Graduate
• Good written/spoken English communications skills
• Good driving record
• Valid drivers license and PDP
• Knowledge of at least one of the following provinces where Peace Corps works (Mpumalanga, KZN, Limpopo and Northern Cape; Eastern Cape)
• Knowledge of at least one spoken language of one of the above provinces such as IsiZulu, TshiVenda, IsiXhosa; SiPedi; SeTswana, TshiTsonga.
Job Specification
This is a Personal Service Contract Position (PSC), to be based in Sunnyside, Pretoria. It is a full-time, 45 hours per week, with possibility of overtime/compensatory time as deemed necessary by supervisors. The Driver/Messenger operates official U.S. Peace Corps motor vehicles in accordance with supervisors' instructions to transport passengers, supplies and equipment as needed. The Driver/Messenger also serves as a chauffeur to Peace Corps staff, Trainees, Volunteers as well as for authorized visitors and guests. The vehicles are predominantly 4-wheel drive vehicles and include pick-ups and minibuses
